Superhuman Review: Is the World's Priciest Email Client Worth It?

The good

  • Tốc độ keyboard shortcut vô đối
  • AI Write tiết kiệm thời gian
  • UI cực polish

The not-so-good

  • $30/tháng đắt
  • Không phù hợp casual user

What Superhuman is selling

Speed. Every interaction in Superhuman is measured in milliseconds. Keyboard shortcuts for everything. Sub-100ms response on archive, snooze, send, search, schedule. After two weeks you stop reaching for the mouse, and after a month using regular Gmail feels like wading through wet sand.

Layer on the AI features added over the last two years — Auto Drafts, AI Triage, AI Summaries — and Superhuman has shifted from "fast email client" to "the closest thing to an AI chief-of-staff for your inbox".

Standout features

Split Inbox

Automatically partitions your inbox into VIP, Team, News, Updates and custom splits. You see what actually matters first and process everything else in batches. Onboarding takes 30 minutes with a human specialist who tunes the rules to your work — yes, included in the price.

AI Write and Auto Drafts

Draft a reply that matches your historical tone, length and phrasing. Auto Drafts goes further by pre-writing responses to incoming emails before you open them; you skim, tweak and send. This is the single biggest time-saver and where the $30/month starts paying for itself.

Snippets

Reusable templates with dynamic placeholders, conditional blocks and inline variables. More powerful than Gmail templates by a wide margin. Sales reps and founders use snippets to send 50+ personalized emails an hour.

Read statuses and follow-ups

See who has opened your email, when, and from what device. Set automatic follow-up reminders that surface in the inbox if you don't get a reply by a chosen date.

e### Calendar integration

Book meetings, propose times, see calendar context next to every email. The integration is tight enough that you can run most scheduling work without opening Google Calendar.

Command palette and shortcuts

A Spotlight-style palette (Cmd-K) gives you access to every action in the app. Keyboard shortcuts cover triaging, formatting, snoozing, splitting and switching accounts. Power users effectively never touch the mouse.

Who it's for

Founders, executives, sales leaders, investors, recruiters, lawyers — anyone processing more than 100 emails a day where each one carries real business consequence. If your inbox is under 20 emails a day, Superhuman is wildly overpriced for what you need.

How it compares

Gmail with Boomerang, Streak and a few keyboard tweaks covers maybe 70% of Superhuman's value for free. Hey ($99/year) takes a more opinionated approach but lacks the speed and AI depth. Spark and Notion Mail are improving but still feel a step behind on every dimension.

Pricing

$30/month per seat, billed annually. There is no free tier. Trials are gated behind an onboarding call, which is annoying but ensures users actually learn the keyboard shortcuts.

Verdict

The most expensive consumer email client on the market, and worth every dollar if email is genuinely how you work. Skip it if it isn't.
